Sailboat quilt

This is a quilt Michelle pieced and I quilted for my dad. He owned a sailboat for years on Lake Pepin in Minnesota. Michelle made the top from scraps and got the 4 boat patterns from books and magazines. I quilted the boats into each square from a stencil and freehanded the "seaweed border. Micnelle just finished the binding about 5 minutes ago.

Wow! Are you sure you are not an art teacher? Was that a pattern you purchased or did you make it up?

The sailboat is a stencil that we picked up at MQS so I am not too artful on that. I did make up the sea weed though!
