Well, yesterday I got a call from my second dissatisfied customer. It was a Harley one and she brought black backing and some orange striped fabric. She said that if there was not enough fabric for the back, she could get some more. Well, there was not enough, so I used some black that I had and the stripe for the back and then used her black fabric for the binding. Anyway, she was upset that I did not use the striped fabric for the binding. I checked my worksheet to see if she had specified using the stripe for the binding and she did not. I thought that if she had actually specified it I would have given her some refund. She also did not like the back, because she said it looked chopped up, because I had pieced it in such a way that the stripe was not on the edge, but pieced in. She said she had never seen a quilt with a back that was pieced. I will send the picture to Tim to post. I did notice when she came to the house both times she seemed to be a little nervous or fidgity and kind of distracted, like she was not concentrating on task at hand. This is the first quilt I have done for her, but maybe it will be the last. She did say that she was really pleased with the quilting.

September 2008 Meeting
Thanks to Shelley and Ann for hosting the meeting at Quilters Quarters in Spring Valley. Thanks also for imparting all of your knowledge on getting started on our whole cloth challenge. I have to apologize for not getting a photo of the Quilts on a Stick that Shelly and Ann brought. I don't know what I was thinking! They were wonderfully cute and creative for those of you that were not able to be at the meeting. You'll have to take my word for it.
